Since PC SOFT, the company behind WinDev, was acquired, the perpetual licence has given way to an annual subscription. Applications compiled with version 2026 also pay a fee for every workstation they are installed on. Older versions avoid the fee, but no longer receive security patches.

We rebuild your WinDev software on an open web technology. A short assessment lets us show you the method on your own application. Then our engineers and AI agents rebuild each module while the old software stays in service.

Why WinDev migration used to cost so much

WinDev source files can only be read in PC SOFT's own tool, under licence. We export them as text so our agents can analyse them.

A language AI barely knows

AI models handle WLanguage poorly. So our agents extract the rules of each screen before rebuilding the code, instead of translating it line by line.

Data locked in a proprietary database

No standard tool can read an HFSQL database, and some of the rules are hidden in the code. We migrate it to PostgreSQL with its full history.

Rules nobody ever wrote down

Your business rules exist only in the code and in the heads of the people who wrote it. We document them screen by screen and have your teams sign them off.

Migrating your HFSQL data

We migrate all your historical data and check it before each switchover.

Mapping the database

We list the HFSQL files, how they link together and the rules the WinDev code applies to the data, which are often missing from the database itself.

Migration to PostgreSQL

We transfer the full history to an open PostgreSQL database, and move the checks the WinDev code used to carry into the database itself.

Checks and switchover

We compare volumes and totals between the two databases before each switchover. The old application stays available until the migration is complete.

GIE Gestimotel runs some forty Novotel, Mercure and Ibis hotels using thirteen WinDev applications built up since 2008. Our audit showed that this code couldn't be taken over as it stood. Galadrim is rebuilding these tools as a single web platform, module by module.

ISM Interprétariat schedules and invoices its assignments in an in-house ERP built in WinDev, and the developer behind it is retiring. Galadrim is replacing it with Passerelle, a web platform that takes over scheduling first, then invoicing, and adds AI tools for interpreters.
