[Your challenges]

Why count your visitors?

Your point-of-sale system records every sale, but not how many people walked into the store. Yet that is the figure that tells you whether a drop in sales comes from fewer visitors or from visits that don't turn into purchases.
01

Measure your conversion rate

By matching visitor numbers against the number of transactions, you get the true conversion rate of each store, day by day and hour by hour.
02

Anticipate peak times

Footfall curves show exactly when your customers arrive. You staff the shop floor and the tills at the right moments, without overstaffing during quiet hours.
03

Measure the impact of your campaigns

Seasonal sales, window displays, local or national campaigns: you measure the real effect of each initiative on store traffic, not just on revenue.
04

Compare your stores with each other

A single view of your whole network: you see which stores convert best, share what they do well and quickly spot the ones falling behind.
[What we offer]

A complete service

We handle the whole chain, from the sensor above your door to the figures your store managers check, in the tools they already use.
The entry and exit sensor
Hardware

The entry and exit sensor

A discreet sensor fitted above each entrance. It tells entries from exits and processes the count on the device itself. Only aggregated figures are sent.
Analysing your data
Analysis

Analysing your data

Peak times, conversion rate, real-time occupancy, comparisons between periods and between stores: we turn raw counts into useful metrics, defined with you around the questions your teams ask.
Integration with your information systems

Integration with your information systems

We connect the footfall data to your point-of-sale system to calculate the conversion rate, and feed it into your dashboards, your management software or your scheduling tool. We handle the entire integration.

An all-inclusive service

A survey of your entrances, sensor installation and calibration, training for your teams, then maintenance, customer support and replacement of faulty sensors: all included in your subscription.
[How we work]

From your first pilot store to roll-out across your whole network

  • SCOPING
    Step 01

    Entrance survey and sensor installation

We study how your entrances are set up (door width, ceiling height, customer flow) and the metrics your teams want to track. We then install the sensors above each entrance and calibrate them on site against a reference count. That way the data is reliable from day one.
  • INTEGRATION
    Step 02

    Integration with your information systems

We connect the count to your point-of-sale system and your internal tools, so the conversion rate and footfall metrics are calculated automatically, where your teams already work.
  • PILOT
    Step 03

Trial in one or more pilot stores

Your teams get to grips with the first analyses in a handful of stores. We adjust the metrics, alerts and views based on their feedback before rolling out more widely.
  • ROLL-OUT
    Step 04

    Roll-out, maintenance and improvements

We roll the system out across all your stores, monitor the sensors, replace any that fail and develop the analysis as your needs evolve.
  • EXPANSION
    Step 05

    Adding new sensors

Once footfall counting is in place, we help you extend the system with other sensors: passers-by outside the window, flow through the aisles, queues at the tills, fitting-room occupancy, temperature or energy use. We install them, combine their data with the footfall data in your information systems and extend the analysis. You manage store performance in even finer detail.

FASHION AND RETAILPROJECT X PARIS

Combining footfall and sales for every store of a fashion brand

Project X Paris, a French fashion brand that has grown into an international retailer, runs a network of owned and franchised stores. Galadrim develops its back office and its NF 525-certified point-of-sale software. We integrated data from the footfall sensors installed at store entrances: it flows automatically into the brand's information systems, where it is analysed alongside sales. Teams track footfall and activity for every store from a retail monitoring module, and export their metrics in a few clicks.

FOOD RETAILGOZOKI

Tracking every entry and exit across a network of unstaffed stores

Gozoki runs a network of self-service, checkout-free food shops. Every entry is logged when the door opens, and every exit goes through a gate that reads the items taken. Galadrim built the platform that runs this network and integrated the stores' connected equipment: gates, cameras and temperature sensors. These devices talk to each other, and all their data is brought together in a single information system. There it is cross-referenced with sales to compare store activity in real time.

[Why Galadrim?]

Why trust Galadrim with footfall counting in your stores?

Specialists in connected sensor integration

From choosing the hardware to getting the data into your information systems, we handle the whole chain. Our teams have already connected sensors in factories, in consumer products and in retail store networks.

Reliable, verified figures

Many providers stop once the sensor is fitted. We calibrate each sensor on site, check its accuracy during the pilot phase and monitor it continuously. We commit contractually to an accuracy rate above 99%.

A bespoke service

You choose the metrics you want to track and the tools to connect. We adapt to each store and develop the system as your needs change.

Counting that respects your customers

Processing happens directly in the sensor: no image is stored or sent, only entry and exit counts.
[How it works]

3D stereo vision, on-device AI and verified data

We fit your stores with latest-generation sensors. We then make sure their data is reliable, integrate it into your information systems and analyse it for you.
A 3D stereoscopic sensor above each entrance

A 3D stereoscopic sensor above each entrance

Its two lenses compute a depth map of the doorway and measure the height of each figure passing through. That way the sensor separates two people walking in side by side, and stays reliable despite shadows, reflections or backlighting.
AI built into the sensor

AI built into the sensor

A neural network running on the sensor tracks each figure, works out the direction of travel and ignores people who turn back. Because the processing happens on the device, images are neither recorded nor transmitted.
A secure, monitored wireless connection

A secure, monitored wireless connection

The sensor sends its counts encrypted, over the store's Wi-Fi or its own 4G or 5G connection, and keeps them in memory if the connection drops. Our teams are alerted automatically if it stops transmitting or if its data starts to look inconsistent.
Data ready to use

Data ready to use

Counts are time-stamped to the minute and delivered through automated feeds, in the format your tools expect. They match up with your till receipts without any manual reprocessing.

Frequently asked questions

There is no up-front cost: you pay a monthly subscription covering the sensors, maintenance, customer support and replacement of any sensor that stops working. The price depends on the number of stores, the number of entrances to equip and the integrations you need. You can start with a few stores and extend the system at your own pace. Tell us about your network and we'll come back to you within 24 hours with an initial proposal.
We monitor your sensors remotely. If one stops working, we replace it at no extra cost: it's included in your subscription.
Counting is processed directly in the sensor. No image is recorded or sent to our servers: only aggregated entry and exit figures are transmitted.
Yes. The system counts people anonymously, without collecting any data that could identify an individual. We also work with you and your data protection officer on informing customers in store and documenting the processing.
We commit contractually to an accuracy rate above 99%. Each sensor is calibrated at installation against a reference count. Its accuracy is then checked during the pilot phase, in your own store and with your own customer flows.
Yes, we handle the entire integration. We connect footfall data to your point-of-sale system to calculate the conversion rate, and feed it into your dashboards, your management software or your scheduling tool.
Allow one week to equip your pilot store and three weeks for your whole network, depending on the number of stores and how your entrances are set up.
